Contractor Bookkeepers Free quote (888) 720-4009

About this site

We are an advertising and referral service for contractors who need their books kept properly. We are not the bookkeeping firm and we are not accountants, and we say so plainly because you should know who you are talking to before you send anything.

How it works

You call the number on this site or send a request. That reaches us, and we pass it to an independent bookkeeping firm that works on construction and trade books all day. Someone on their operations team replies within one business day. They assess, they quote, they do the work, and your agreement is with them. There is no charge to you for the introduction.

Why the site exists

Good contractor bookkeepers are hard to find from the outside. Search for one and you get national software companies, directories, and a hundred general bookkeepers who will happily take your money and treat a deposit as income. The bookkeeper this site points at is small, has kept construction books for years, and had no particular interest in building a website about it. This site is the front door they did not have.

Who keeps the books

An independent bookkeeping and payroll practice with clients in several states, all handled remotely. They keep the books, produce financial statements, run payroll in any state, and close each year with a package built for your tax preparer. The first conversation is free, and what you are quoted follows a look at your books rather than a price list.

What we will and won’t tell you

The guides on this site are written about how contractor books actually fail: deposits booked as revenue, change orders never billed, labour bid without burden, retainage lost in receivables. Where the honest answer is that your books are fine and you need a better estimate rather than a bookkeeper, that is what you will be told. We do not publish testimonials we did not collect or credentials nobody holds.

What this site does not have

No testimonials, no star ratings, no client logos. That is deliberate. We have not done the work and did not collect the reviews, so publishing either would be inventing a track record. What is here instead is the advice: how the books should be set up, what the reports should show, what the work costs, and which problems are cheap to fix now and expensive to ignore until January. Judge the site on whether that is useful and accurate.

Credentials and licensing

We hold no accounting credential and make no claim to one. Bookkeeping and payroll do not require a state licence. If your bank or bonding agent requires reviewed or audited financial statements, those come from a licensed CPA, and your bookkeeper prepares the books so that review costs you as little as possible.

Questions people actually ask

How do you make money if the introduction is free?

The bookkeeping firm pays for the introduction. You pay them for the work at whatever you agree, and nothing you pay is affected by us. That is the whole arrangement, and it is why the guides on this site can afford to tell you when you do not need a bookkeeper yet.

Is this one firm or a list?

One firm. Your request does not go to five bookkeepers who then compete for you by phone. If after the first conversation they are not the right fit, they will say so rather than take work they cannot do well.

Can they really handle my state?

Yes. Your bookkeeper already keeps books and runs payroll for companies in several states and registers for state payroll accounts wherever your people work. Bookkeeping has no state licence to worry about; payroll does have state registrations, and those are part of the setup.

What if the work is not good?

Your agreement is with the firm, so that is who you take it up with, and their terms apply. Tell us too. The whole model depends on your bookkeeper we point people at being good, so we have a direct interest in knowing.

Can I see reviews?

Not from us, and we would rather say that than manufacture some. This site launched in 2026 and has no review history of its own. Ask the firm for references from contractors in your trade and call them.
